A few blogs that have moved to the top of Google Reader:
Four Beds Two Baths - the number of projects this couple manages to complete is both inspiring and depressing. How did they manage to paint their whole bedroom in one night on a whim when it took us three weeks?
This Young House - I love how much this couple adores their house. I feel the same way about ours.
Making It Lovely - More infectious enthusiasm and great ideas.
Of course, the cruel paradox in becoming obsessed with new home blogs is that I spend so much time reading them that I get even less done around our house! We did finish painting our bedroom though! (Pictures soon, it's very overcast today.) Even though I'm not checking things of the to-do list, I'm gathering ideas and letting inspiration stew a bit. I've been on a big Craigslist hunt for a credenza. So far, the perfect piece has not shown up. This West Elm console keeps catching my eye though:
Ben's not sure about the white. Neither of us are sure about the $600 price tag. It's quite a bit above the "we found it by the side of the road" price range we're more comfortable with.Even though this will only heighten the risk of making proclamations that I will never fulfill, here's the current to-do/wish list:
-paint bathroom walls and cabinet (the current mint green is going to change to a soothing smoky blue soon)
-lay down some mulch in the flower beds
-paint living room/kitchen (this will be at least a month from now since we're waiting for a new bay window and slider to be installed)
-sew slipcovers for slipper chairs
-make fabric roller shades for bedroom
-find rug for bedroom
There's plenty more we'd like to do, but I think this list should keep us going for quite awhile.
