Surpise socks

It's been quite awhile, but I finally finished knitting something! No, it's not the Summer Tweed jacket I had been working on. I finally had to admit that I'm going to need more yarn to finish it. *grumble grumble* (Incidentally, if anyone has two skeins of Rowan Summer Tweed in Toast, dye lot 14J4, please contact me!!!!) I was so close to finishing this jacket (only 1/2 of a sleeve and the collar and finishing left to go) that despite my lack of yarn, I just HAD to finish something. So I dug up my almost finished Brown Sugar socks. What? Don't remember these socks? That's because I started them back in October of 2007. Don't ask me why I didn't just finish them. I only had half of a foot to go. Chalk it up to knitterly ADD I suppose.

Yarn: Yarn Pirate superwash merino in Brown Sugar
Needles: US1, magic looped
Pattern: Yarrow Ribbed Socks (Ravelry link) from Nancy Bush's Knitting Vintage Socks

Notes: While I do like the socks a lot now that they're done, I think I would have liked just plain stockinette socks for this yarn a bit better, because I love how the bottom of the feet look. (Although, who knows how it may have pooled) I had many false starts with this yarn because I just couldn't decide on a pattern that I thought did it justice.

In another unprecedented move for me, I cast on for another pair of socks the same day! I may be going insane though because I'm knitting toe-up Bayerische socks - you may remember Eunny's amazing pattern - and I'm loving every minute of their tiny twisted stitches.
