Was Aristotle a knitter?

Because he might have wanted to look into this great new toy pattern from Craft: magazine.

Don't you just love when ancient dilemma in circular reasoning manifest themselves in toy form?! This GENIUS idea comes from none other Anna of the Mochimochi Blog. I don't usually go in for cute knitted toys - I think they're cute and all, but I'd rather be knitting some socks - but imagine this scene:

Little niece of nephew looks up from playing with chicken or egg toy, knit by Aunt Kellie.
Niece/nephew: Aunt Kellie, do you agree with Aristotle's conclusions regarding the origins of the chicken and the egg. I'm having trouble figuring out the actuality and potentiality of it all. It's too bad Plato's relatively simple world of ideas just doesn't hold any water.
Sage Aunt Kellie: Here, you can borrow my copy of The Metaphysics. (The Sachs translation, of course.)

You're never too young to form opinions on Ancient Greek philosophers and translations. Especially when they can be backed up by super cute toys!

We're going to be homeowners!

Our offer was accepted this afternoon on a very cute house that we're really excited about! There's been lots of celebrating, freaking out, and phone calls around here today. There hasn't been any knitting. BUT I've already got big plans for a big comfy knitting chair in our new house.

Demi

At long last, I've managed to get a couple pictures of Demi. It's funny how the elements of good weather, time, a photographer, and a charged camera battery seldom seem to coincide these days. Anyway, my best laid plans for a creative photo shoot have given way to just taking the pictures, any pictures, already. So here you have it, my Demi:

(I cropped my head off in this one, because no one should look that tired less than an hour after waking up.) I'm thrilled with how this sweater came out. I've gotten lots of compliments on it, and it's very comfortable to wear. My one complaint would be that I wish I made it even longer. I added a couple of inches to the pattern, but it tends to creep up a bit when I wear it and I find myself continually pulling it down throughout the day. I want to wash it now that it's all put together and see what happens when I just lay it flat to dry though. I know it's not going to get any longer, but maybe it will stop creeping so much.

Because I'm too lazy to type out all the specs right now, all the pattern details can be found on Ravelry. (Are there really a ton of people that still aren't able to get in to Ravelry?)

Update

We didn't get the house. It's so disappointing! At least now I can get back to my knitting a little bit...

Delay

Demi is done and dusted! It fits great and I've even worn it to work once already! Unfortunately, I don't have a photo shoot for you. I meant to get some shots taken on Sunday, but we went out house hunting in the morning, and well, we just put in an offer on a house yesterday. Needless to say, it's taken over our lives. So give me a couple of days. Hopefully, when I come back I'll have news of a new house in the works (we'll find out if our offer is accepted tomorrow) and photos of a very successful Demi.
